Patient Administration Executive

About the role

The Patient Administration Executive will be the first point of contact for patients entering the medical centre, ensuring a smooth and professional experience from registration through billing. This role combines front‑desk duties, insurance verification, cash handling and coordination with clinical staff.

Key responsibilities

• Greet patients, direct them to appropriate departments and provide routine hospital information.
• Register new patients, update existing records and manage appointment scheduling, including rescheduling and confirming appointments.
• Handle telephone and email inquiries, forwarding clinical queries to doctors or nurses as needed.
• Explain insurance coverage, collect co‑payments, process claim forms and facilitate daily cash, credit‑card and cheque deposits.
• Generate and process patient invoices, ensuring accurate coding and timely billing.
• Maintain confidentiality, adhere to NMC regulations, infection‑control policies and hospital quality‑improvement procedures.
• Monitor and respond to patient complaints in a structured, respectful manner.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact courteously with patients and staff.
• Attention to detail for accurate record‑keeping, billing and insurance verification.
• Ability to work in shifts and follow established duty schedules.
• Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe reception area and complying with hospital policies.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Hospital Information System for patient registration, appointment booking and billing.
