Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Nurse (PICU)

About the role

A leading healthcare facility in Dubai is looking for an experienced PICU nurse to join its pediatric critical care team. The nurse provides specialised care to critically ill infants and children, with a strong understanding of pediatric intensive care protocols and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high-level nursing care to pediatric patients in the PICU.
• Monitor vital signs and respond to changes in condition with appropriate clinical interventions.
• Administer medications, give intravenous therapy and manage life-support equipment.
• Collaborate with pediatricians, intensivists, respiratory therapists and other healthcare professionals.
• Support families through clear communication, reassurance and education about treatment plans and recovery.
• Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all care provided.
• Follow hospital protocols, infection control standards and regulatory requirements.
• Take part in emergency response and pediatric resuscitation.

Required profile

• Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a PICU or similar pediatric critical care setting.
• Valid DHA license (Dubai Health Authority).
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• BLS and PALS certifications are mandatory.

Required skills

• Strong clinical skills and knowledge of pediatric care.
• Ability to manage high-stress situations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, especially with children and families.
