Pediatric Otolaryngology / ENT Consultant

About the role

A leading healthcare facility in the UAE is recruiting a Consultant Pediatric Otolaryngology / ENT Consultant. The role combines clinical practice with managerial duties supporting the division chief, and the work location is Al Ain.

Key responsibilities

• Support, implement and follow hospital, departmental and divisional policies and procedures
• Help lead and run the performance management system, including peer review, productivity and utilization review
• Assist with scheduling and ensure adequate medical coverage in the division, and attend divisional meetings as required
• Assist the Division Chief in recruiting new medical staff and take on other administrative or clinical duties as requested
• Diagnose and treat patients according to best-practice standards for the specialty
• Oversee the clinical work of junior medical staff and take responsibility for their care
• Follow hospital policies on admissions, consultations, daily care, surgery, discharge and follow-up, and use organizational resources appropriately
• Lead ward rounds, regularly reassess inpatients and outpatients, and document clinical information clearly and on time
• Review investigation results and modify treatment as needed, liaise with other specialties, and take part in multi-disciplinary meetings
• Prepare patients for procedures, obtain informed consent, and accept clinically appropriate referrals from emergency, primary care, other departments, walk-in patients and other hospitals

Required profile

• Tier 1 qualification and current national license or equivalent
• Certified proof of yearly CME
• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and specialization in Pediatric Otolaryngology
• Board certification (American Board, CCT UK, Australian Board, another Western board) or fellowship/certification in Pediatric Otolaryngology
• At least 5 years of post-specialization experience in Pediatric Otolaryngology
• Valid DOH (Abu Dhabi) license or eligibility
• Experience in JCI-accredited hospitals is preferred
