Pharmacy Technician

About the role

The Pharmacy Technician will support daily pharmaceutical operations at Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Hospital, a JCI‑accredited facility serving the Northern Emirates. The role involves preparing and dispensing medications, managing inventory, and ensuring safe storage in compliance with M42 and Department of Health standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, double‑check, label, and distribute medications following local and international guidelines.
• Maintain pharmacy inventory: monitor stock, place orders, verify deliveries, and remove expired items.
• Receive, store, and secure incoming medication and supplies.
• Prepare IV solutions, extemporaneous medications, and admixtures using aseptic techniques and accurate dosage calculations.
• Identify and report inappropriate dosages during calculations.
• Operate and maintain pharmacy equipment, performing routine checks and calibrations per SOPs.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as prescription filling, label typing, and record keeping.
• Monitor temperature, humidity, and storage conditions to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Provide medication information and support to patients and healthcare providers.

Required profile

• Diploma in Pharmacy Technology or a related field.
