Physical Education Teacher

About the role

The Physical Education Teacher will lead the PE department, delivering a comprehensive curriculum and fostering a safe, active environment for students. This role combines classroom teaching with curriculum development, assessment, and community engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement, evaluate and develop the physical education curriculum for the school.
• Apply effective teaching methods that prioritize hygiene and safety.
• Design and maintain reliable assessment procedures.
• Liaise with external educational establishments and sport governing bodies.
• Prepare, teach, assess, record and report on student progress.
• Produce written reports on departmental activities.
• Ensure quality assurance of the overall PE experience for all pupils.
• Establish, monitor and evaluate departmental philosophy, aims, objectives and procedures.
• Manage and maintain all PE resources and facilities.
• Contribute to whole‑school management policies and procedures.
• Advise the Head of Department on subject‑related matters.
• Collaborate with advisory, support services and other departments as needed.

Required profile

• Any university graduate (any specialization) or B.A. degree.
• B.Ed. in Education is desirable.
• Diploma or postgraduate qualification is optional.
