PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) Nurse

About the role

A leading international hospital in Dubai is looking for experienced PICU nurses to join its pediatric critical care team. The role suits Western-trained nurses who want to provide specialized, compassionate care to critically ill children and adolescents, working alongside pediatric intensivists and allied health professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver expert nursing care to infants, children and adolescents in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit.
• Monitor patients continuously and respond quickly to emergencies.
• Administer medications, manage ventilators and use advanced life-support technologies.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists and other care providers on coordinated, individualized care.
• Support and educate families during critical care episodes with empathy and clear communication.
• Maintain accurate patient records using electronic medical systems.
• Uphold international clinical standards, patient safety and infection control procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent from a recognized institution.
• Active and valid nursing license in the home country or country of practice.
• At least 2 years of recent experience in a Level II or III Pediatric ICU.
• Preference for nurses trained and licensed in the UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand or South Africa.
• Willingness to work in Dubai.

Required skills

• BLS and PALS certification required; ACLS is an asset.
• Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations.
• Strong communication skills and cultural sensitivity in a diverse care setting.
