Piping Supervisor - Fabrication

About the role

Wood is seeking an experienced Piping Supervisor to lead all piping fabrication activities in its Abu Dhabi shop, ensuring compliance with ADNOC standards, project specifications and safety requirements. The role involves supervising cutting, fit‑up, welding and assembly, coordinating with engineering, QA/QC and planning teams to deliver high‑quality spools on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise day‑to‑day piping fabrication activities including cutting, fit‑up, welding and assembly.
• Ensure works follow approved drawings, welding procedures, inspection test plans and ADNOC specifications.
• Coordinate with engineering, QA/QC and planning to resolve technical queries and maintain workflow.
• Monitor productivity, optimise use of manpower, materials and equipment.
• Enforce HSE policies and ADNOC safety standards in the shop.
• Review fabrication drawings for constructability and manage material traceability.
• Track progress and report status to construction/project management.
• Oversee subcontractors and support pre‑commissioning activities.

Required profile

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
• Minimum 10 years of piping fabrication experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
• Proven experience on ADNOC or similar Middle‑East EPC/EPCM projects.
• Strong knowledge of international codes (ASME, API) and ADNOC standards.
• Ability to read and interpret isometrics, GA drawings and P&IDs.
• Experience managing fabrication shop operations and workforce supervision.
• Good coordination and communication skills with multidisciplinary teams.
