Planning & Cost Control Engineer

About the role

The Planning & Cost Control Engineer is responsible for planning, monitoring and controlling project costs throughout the project lifecycle. The role keeps projects within approved budgets through forecasting, budgeting, reporting and financial analysis, working with internal teams, suppliers and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and monitor project budgets and cost plans
• Track project expenditures and keep costs within approved budgets
• Prepare cost reports, forecasts and financial analyses for management review
• Monitor milestones, variations, billing progress and cost performance
• Review cost estimates and recommend improvements for budgeting and procurement
• Verify supplier, vendor and subcontractor invoices and claims
• Maintain project cost records and accounting databases
• Coordinate with project teams on forecasting and financial planning
• Monitor billing status and assist with accounts receivable
• Build relationships with suppliers and service providers
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies and company procedures

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline
• Minimum 5 years of experience in project planning and cost control
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Arabic language skills are an advantage
