Planning Engineer – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Planning Engineer to join AECOM’s infrastructure project team in Abu Dhabi, responsible for developing, reviewing and monitoring project schedules and ensuring alignment with contractual requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review and monitor the Contractor’s baseline, recovery and updated programmes.
• Ensure schedules are logic‑linked, resource‑loaded, properly sequenced and aligned with scope and contracts.
• Track actual progress against approved programmes, identify delays and critical activities.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, including look‑ahead programmes.
• Analyse critical path, float, constraints and provide mitigation recommendations.
• Coordinate with Resident Engineer, discipline engineers, inspectors and Contractor’s planning team for accurate progress data.
• Review Extension of Time (EOT) submissions, delay events and time‑related claims.
• Maintain project dashboards, KPIs and present schedule updates to management and client.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or related field.
• 7+ years of planning and scheduling experience on infrastructure and construction projects.
• Strong analytical, communication and coordination abilities.
• Experience reviewing Contractor programmes, progress reports and delay analyses.
• Prior experience on UAE infrastructure projects is an advantage.
