Planning Engineer - Interior Fit-Out Projects

About the role

Careers International is looking for an experienced Planning Engineer in Dubai with strong experience in interior fit-out and construction projects. The role covers project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring, reporting and coordination with project teams so that projects are completed on time and within plan.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed project schedules and baseline programs for interior fit-out and construction projects
• Prepare and update project plans according to drawings, BOQs and execution strategies
• Monitor daily and weekly progress against the approved schedule and track milestones, critical activities and performance
• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, subcontractors, consultants and procurement teams
• Identify delays, risks and schedule constraints and recommend corrective actions
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports for management and clients
• Maintain project trackers, look-ahead schedules and recovery programs; prepare 2-week/3-week look-aheads
• Assist in resource planning and monitor procurement and material delivery schedules
• Help prepare delay analysis, extension of time (EOT) documentation and recovery schedules
• Attend coordination and progress meetings and keep records of schedules, revisions and reports

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or a related field
• 3-7 years of experience as a Planning Engineer in construction, fit-out or contracting companies
• Strong experience in interior fit-out projects is mandatory or preferred
• Experience coordinating with project managers, site teams, subcontractors, consultants and suppliers
• UAE experience in construction or fit-out is an advantage

Required skills

• Proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or MS Project
• Good knowledge of project planning, scheduling, monitoring and reporting
• Understanding of construction and fit-out sequencing and dependencies, critical paths and resource requirements
• Good command of MS Office, particularly Excel
• Analytical, problem-solving, communication and reporting skills
