Planning Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Planning Engineer to join Parsons Corporation’s Shared Services team in Abu Dhabi, supporting a major Intelligent Transportation System project in Dubai. The role reports to the Resident Engineer/Project Director and works closely with the Resident Engineer and Quantity Surveyors.

Key responsibilities

• Review and endorse the contractor’s baseline programme in line with contract conditions.
• Validate resource compatibility to ensure timely project completion.
• Generate monthly cash‑flow projections and resource histograms.
• Prepare consolidated reports on the contractor’s programme for employer consent.
• Coordinate meetings with employer representatives to present the contractor’s programme and discuss observations.
• Assist the Resident Engineer and Quantity Surveyor in tracking progress against the baseline schedule.
• Identify potential delays, highlight critical events and propose mitigation measures.
• Update internal schedules following design changes, variations or instructions.
• Support the Resident Engineer and Construction Manager in developing recovery plans for off‑schedule activities.
• Produce weekly programme updates and monthly progress reports.
• Participate in site progress meetings and respond to contractor notices with programming data.
• Analyse contractor’s Extension of Time claims and prepare engineer’s initial assessment reports.

Required profile

• Proven experience reviewing and managing contractor baseline programmes.
• Strong analytical ability to track schedule performance and identify delays.
• Excellent coordination skills for liaising with resident engineers, quantity surveyors and employer representatives.
• Capability to prepare detailed progress and cash‑flow reports.
