Planning Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Planning Engineer to join our Transport Unit in Dubai. The role supports project managers and delivery teams in planning, scheduling, monitoring and reporting on transport and infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges and interchanges. The successful candidate will apply strong project‑control expertise and analytical skills to communicate progress and risks to all stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and other planning tools.
• Support project managers in preparing baseline schedules, work breakdown structures, programme narratives and resource/cost loading.
• Monitor progress against baselines, identify slippages, assess critical‑path impacts and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with design, procurement, utilities and construction teams to obtain accurate updates and maintain realistic forecasts.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards and schedule narratives for internal and client reporting.
• Support look‑ahead programmes, milestone trackers and interface schedules (e.g., utilities diversions, traffic management, permits).
• Assist with delay analysis, extensions of time and contractual delay impact assessments, including FIDIC requirements.
• Participate in risk reviews, maintain schedule risk items, constraints and mitigation plans.
• Ensure all planning outputs comply with company standards, client requirements and documentation auditability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management or a related discipline.
• 3–5 years of experience in planning and scheduling on major transport, infrastructure or construction projects.
• Proven expertise in using Primavera P6 and MS Project.
• Familiarity with Power BI is advantageous.
