Planning Engineer

About the role

The Planning Engineer will lead project planning, scheduling and progress reporting for a large‑scale power and water transmission scheme in Abu Dhabi. Acting as the PMC’s scheduling lead, you will coordinate with multiple supervision consultants and EPC contractors to ensure the programme meets client objectives, timelines and budget constraints.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Primavera P6 schedules, including baselines, updates, recovery plans and what‑if scenarios, with proper activity coding, calendars and resource loading.
• Implement earned‑value and physical progress measurement systems, produce weekly and monthly look‑ahead schedules, progress narratives and variance analyses.
• Coordinate with cost engineers to load schedules, generate time‑phased cash‑flow forecasts and highlight cost‑schedule variances.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in planning and scheduling on EPC projects, with solid understanding of construction sequencing and EOT principles.

Required skills

• Primavera P6 – schedule creation, baselining, critical‑path analysis.
• Power BI – data import, DAX measures, visual dashboards.
• Advanced Excel – pivots, charts, look‑ups, what‑if analysis.
• SharePoint – collaborative data management.
