Planning Engineer

About the role

Prepare, review, and monitor project schedules for construction and development projects, track progress against baselines, identify delays early, and produce progress reports and dashboards to support decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, review and update detailed project programmes, including contractors’ baseline, recovery and look‑ahead schedules.
• Monitor actual progress versus approved baselines, verify weekly/monthly updates and conduct site visits to confirm reported progress.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, S‑curves, manpower histograms and management presentations.
• Identify schedule risks, assess impact of variations, support Extension of Time (EOT) assessments and delay claim analysis.
• Coordinate with project managers, consultants, contractors and engineers, and participate in progress meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management or a related discipline.
• 5–8 years of planning experience in construction, project management or real‑estate development, preferably in the UAE.
• Experience with a PMC, engineering consultancy, developer or client‑side organization is highly preferred.

Required skills

• Primavera P6 (hands‑on experience).
• Microsoft Project and advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Critical Path Method analysis, baseline programme review and look‑ahead planning.
• S‑curves, progress monitoring, delay analysis and EOT assessment.
• Understanding of construction sequencing and FIDIC contracts (advantage).
