Planning Engineer

About the role

Geosyntec Consultants is seeking a Planning Engineer with marine and coastal engineering expertise to join its Abu Dhabi practice for a one‑year fixed‑term project. The role involves developing schedules, budgets, and cost‑effective solutions while coordinating with contractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and validate schedule data, ensuring the correct scope of work is reflected.
• Integrate inter‑discipline schedule requirements to establish logical work sequences.
• Develop activity durations, quantity release curves, and critical‑path analyses for assigned disciplines.
• Review and approve invoice verification based on cost‑loaded schedules.
• Identify schedule deviations, recommend corrective actions, and produce monthly schedule commentary.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in civil, coastal, structural or geotechnical engineering (advanced degree preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of experience overseeing coastal, marine, geotechnical and structural engineering projects.
• Proficiency with Primavera Enterprise Systems (P6) scheduling technology.
• Strong oral and technical writing skills.
• Experience with international design standards such as Eurocode and British Standards, as well as local regulations.
