Planning Engineer – Marine (Abu Dhabi)

About the role

We are looking for a qualified Planning Engineer with marine experience to manage large‑scale port construction projects in Abu Dhabi. The role involves creating, monitoring and updating detailed project schedules, ensuring alignment with client and authority requirements, and delivering projects on time.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, update and monitor detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 (mandatory) and MS Project (additional).
• Prepare cost‑loaded and resource‑loaded programs, change logs, KPIs and EOT tracking.
• Coordinate with site engineers, procurement teams and subcontractors to keep the baseline schedule current and identify major risks.
• Produce look‑ahead programs, progress reports, mitigation and recovery plans when delays occur.
• Conduct regular site visits to verify actual progress against planned timelines.
• Integrate project milestones with Abu Dhabi authority NOC approvals, traffic diversion plans and permit processes.
• Analyze critical path, float and resource allocation to optimise timelines.
• Participate in progress meetings and present schedule updates to management and client representatives.
• Perform delay analysis, including Time Impact Analysis and Window Analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in engineering, with at least 5 years as a Planning Engineer on similar‑size projects in the UAE.
• Involvement in at least two Abu Dhabi projects within the last five years.
• Strong English communication skills.
• In‑depth knowledge of Abu Dhabi authority procedures and standards.
