Plumber / Technician

About the role

Anantara Hotels & Resorts is looking for a skilled and reliable Plumber / Technician to join its Engineering team at Desert Islands Resort & Spa. The role maintains, repairs and services the hotel's plumbing and water systems so that operations run efficiently, guests stay comfortable and safety is ensured. Candidates must respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies while keeping high hotel standards.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of the hotel's plumbing and water systems.
• Inspect, repair and maintain water supply, drainage, sewage and sanitary systems.
• Attend to plumbing requests and emergencies in guest rooms, public areas, restaurants, kitchens and back-of-house areas.
• Repair and replace pipes, valves, faucets, toilets, pumps, water heaters and other fixtures.
• Identify and fix water leaks, blockages and low water pressure.
• Conduct regular inspections and complete preventive maintenance according to the hotel schedule.
• Maintain records of maintenance, repairs and parts replaced, and keep tools, equipment and materials stored properly.
• Follow health, safety, environmental and operational procedures, keep work areas clean and support other engineering activities.
• Respond to guest concerns, participate in energy and water conservation initiatives and suggest cost-saving ideas.

Required profile

• Certificate or diploma in Plumbing, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or a related technical field.
• At least one year of relevant plumbing experience, preferably in a hotel, resort, commercial building or facility management setting.
• Hands-on experience in plumbing installation, repair and preventive maintenance.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays, and to live and work in a remote resort location.

Required skills

• Good knowledge of water supply, drainage, sewage and sanitary systems.
• Basic knowledge of related mechanical systems and equipment.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Ability to work independently and in a team, with good communication skills.
