PMC Commissioning Manager

About the role

Wood is looking for an experienced PMC Commissioning Manager in Abu Dhabi to lead, manage and coordinate all pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, performance testing and handover activities on behalf of the client. The goal is to commission all systems and facilities safely, efficiently and in line with project specifications, operational requirements, regulatory standards and project schedules, so that a fully operational facility is ready for production for high-profile clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the project commissioning team and champion safety, including the objective that "Nobody gets Hurt".
• Manage module fabrication and the commissioning teams' planning, development and operations.
• Manage the contractor's commissioning planning and execution, and establish a commissioning organization with resourcing of team positions.
• Ensure contractors and subcontractors comply with project safety expectations, policies and procedures, and steward an Integrated Safety Plan for commissioning, including SIMOPS for island and brownfield work.
• Steward interfaces with the contractor, Production Operations, Drilling and ADNOC, and report commissioning progress, performance, initiatives and issues to the project team.
• Sponsor commissioning readiness reviews, workshops and CERs, and mentor and train UAE Nationals.
• Communicate short-term and long-term goals to direct reports, recognize outstanding performance and ensure regular appraisals and development.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent; Master's degree in management or equivalent.
• Minimum 20+ years of experience in the oil and gas sector, including commissioning management on large projects.
