PMC Specialist QA/QC Engineer (Gas CAP)

About the role

Wood is looking for an experienced PMC Specialist QA/QC Engineer (Gas CAP) to lead and oversee all Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities for a Gas CAP project. The role ensures that engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and vendor activities comply with project specifications, industry standards, regulatory requirements and client expectations, delivering a safe, reliable and high-quality facility.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the PMC QA/QC function and provide overall quality leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
• Develop, implement and maintain the project Quality Management Plan and QA/QC procedures.
• Ensure compliance with ADNOC standards, project requirements and international codes and standards.
• Review and approve contractor QA/QC plans, ITPs, quality control plans and related documentation.
• Monitor EPC contractor and subcontractor performance against contractual quality requirements and establish quality KPIs.
• Lead quality surveillance, audits, inspections and assessments of contractors, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Manage NCRs, observations, concessions, deviations, corrective and preventive actions, and ensure root-cause analysis where required.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and project controls teams, and review vendor quality documentation.
• Participate in contractor and vendor audits, pre-inspection meetings, inspection releases and critical quality reviews.
• Support quality surveillance for offshore fabrication, construction, installation and commissioning, and support welding, NDT, material certification, coating, painting and mechanical completion.
• Maintain quality records for project handover, mentor PMC QA/QC personnel, identify quality risks and escalate quality issues affecting schedule, cost, safety or delivery.
• Interface directly with ADNOC Offshore representatives and promote a strong quality culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience, predominantly in the oil and gas industry.
• Significant experience in major offshore oil and gas projects, preferably with ADNOC or other major Middle East operators.
• Proven experience in a PMC environment with strong contractor management and client-facing experience.
• Previous lead or management-level QA/QC experience on major offshore projects.
• Demonstrated experience managing QA/QC across large, complex, multi-contractor projects.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of offshore engineering, fabrication, construction, installation and commissioning quality requirements.
• International standards such as ISO, ASME, API, AWS and NACE/AMPP.
• Quality audits, ITPs, NCR management, corrective actions and quality documentation.
• Understanding of quality management systems and contractor quality assurance processes.
• Offshore experience and relevant certifications are an advantage.
