Polisher – Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Polisher will respond to guest repair requests, perform preventive maintenance on hotel equipment, and carry out a variety of maintenance tasks across the property to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to guest repair requests and resolve maintenance issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment and machines, and carry necessary equipment such as tools and radios.
• Identify, locate and operate shut‑off valves and utility shut‑offs for the building.
• Maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts using approved communication programs.
• Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, and thorough cleanup of work areas.
• Test, troubleshoot and carry out basic repairs on plumbing, electrical components, TV programming, and guestroom items.
• Use the Lockout/Tagout system before any maintenance work.
• Repair interior and exterior landscaping, including sprinkler systems.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation and painting; hotel engineering experience is a plus.
• Valid driver’s licence.

• Air‑conditioning and refrigeration systems.
• Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Plumbing repairs (e.g., unclogging drains, toilet plunging).
• Painting, drywall and wood‑trim repair.
• Lockout/Tagout safety procedures.
• Landscaping and sprinkler system maintenance.
• Basic computer skills for inputting air‑handler schedules and temperature changes.
