Pool Plant Operator

About the role

The Pool Plant Operator supports the hotel’s engineering team by responding to guest repair requests and performing preventive maintenance on pool‑related equipment and facilities. This full‑time, onsite position ensures that all mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems operate safely and efficiently for a high‑quality guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to guest repair requests, communicate solutions and resolve maintenance issues promptly.
• Perform preventive maintenance, cleaning and lubrication of pool tools, kitchen and mechanical‑room equipment.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment and machines; carry necessary tools and radios.
• Identify, locate and operate shut‑off valves for equipment and building utilities.
• Maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Execute surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood‑trim repairs, and clean work areas thoroughly.
• Test, troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical components, HVAC filters, TV programming and other guestroom items.
• Use Lockout/Tagout procedures before any maintenance work and follow all safety and security policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Some experience in general maintenance, preferably in a hotel engineering environment.
• Valid driver’s license.

Required skills

• Air‑conditioning and refrigeration knowledge.
• Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Plumbing and pneumatic/electronic system basics.
• Carpentry, painting and surface‑preparation techniques.
• Lockout/Tagout safety procedures.
• Basic computer skills for inputting schedules and temperature changes.
