Portfolio Director

About the role

The Portfolio Director will act as the client’s senior representative, providing strategic oversight, governance and performance management for a complex portfolio of construction, master‑planning and fit‑out programmes. Based in Abu Dhabi and seconded to the client office, the role ensures delivery aligns with executive objectives, regulatory requirements and long‑term asset outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead portfolio strategy, governance frameworks and executive reporting to align with client priorities.
• Provide senior leadership and assurance across all projects, guaranteeing safe, compliant and high‑quality delivery.
• Act as trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, influencing decisions through insight, analysis and risk assurance.
• Maintain ethical, financially sound portfolio management with strong controls, transparency and accountability.
• Strengthen client and stakeholder relationships, serving as the portfolio’s ambassador and ensuring effective communication.
• Uphold exceptional standards in safety, quality, risk, sustainability and compliance while optimising performance.
• Collaborate with Mace Consult Centre of Excellence to apply best‑in‑class tools, methodologies and specialist expertise.
• Build and manage high‑performing teams, fostering an inclusive, knowledge‑sharing environment.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in portfolio or programme management within construction or consultancy.
• Proven senior leadership experience with responsibility for governance, risk and commercial oversight.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive strategic outcomes.
• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and asset investment principles.
