Post-Doctoral Associate – Applied Interactive Multimedia

About the role

The Applied Interactive Multimedia laboratory seeks a motivated post‑doctoral associate to lead the design, development, and validation of materials, control systems, and algorithms for next‑generation soft haptic actuators. The role involves close collaboration with material‑science partners and the creation of digital‑twin and soft‑robot simulations for brain‑machine interaction, wearable haptics, and rehabilitation.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop soft haptic actuators, control systems, and associated algorithms.
• Collaborate with material‑science researchers to integrate novel materials into prototypes.
• Build and rapidly prototype proof‑of‑concept devices in an on‑site laboratory.
• Apply developed technologies to digital‑twin and soft‑robot simulations for biomedical applications.

Required profile

• PhD in Electrical, Mechanical, Material Engineering or related field, or 3‑5 years of industry R&D experience.
• Significant experience in haptic technologies and hands‑on lab work.
• Critical thinking, problem‑solving skills, and strong communication in English.
• Within five years of receiving the PhD.
