Post-Doctoral Associate in Structural Materials 3D Printing & Modeling

About the role

The Future‑GRID Technology Hub at NYU Abu Dhabi seeks a Post‑Doctoral Associate to advance research on structural materials, 3D printing, and computational modeling. You will work with industry‑scale printers and a multidisciplinary team to develop resilient infrastructure solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead multiple research projects on structural steel, ultra‑high‑performance concrete (UHPC), and additive manufacturing.
• Operate and optimize industry‑scale 3D concrete and metal printers for fabricating structural components.
• Perform finite‑element simulations and computational modeling of printed structural elements.
• Publish findings in peer‑reviewed journals and present at conferences.
• Mentor undergraduate students and contribute to grant proposal writing.

Required profile

• PhD in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Materials Engineering or related field (e.g., Nuclear Engineering, Material Science).
• Strong research record with experience in structural engineering and finite‑element analysis.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
