About the role

The Laboratory for Computer‑Human Intelligence (CHI‑lab) in the Division of Engineering at NYU Abu Dhabi seeks a highly motivated Post‑Doctoral Associate to advance cutting‑edge research in machine learning, focusing on human‑centered AI and multimodal systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop novel machine‑learning algorithms and models tailored to dynamic, human‑centered environments.
• Enhance human‑AI collaboration through user‑centric AI system design and usability studies.
• Work with diverse signal modalities such as vision, speech, images, and physiological signals (e.g., EMG, EEG, ECG).

Required profile

• PhD in Computer Science or a related field, with no more than five years post‑PhD experience.
• Strong publication record in top‑tier conferences (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, CHI, CVPR).
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and mentorship abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience with machine‑learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Background in deep learning, reinforcement learning, or human‑centered ML.
• Familiarity with multimodal data processing (vision, speech, physiological signals).
