About the role

The Center for Quantum and Topological Systems (CQTS) at NYU Abu Dhabi seeks a Post‑Doctoral Associate to lead experimental quantum‑science instrumentation. The role focuses on designing, building, and deploying advanced optical and spin‑based experimental platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Conceptualize, prototype, assemble, integrate, calibrate, automate, and troubleshoot custom quantum‑optical and spin‑based instruments.
• Combine optical components, lasers, spectroscopy, magnetic‑resonance techniques, electronics, data‑acquisition hardware, and software control into functional systems.
• Use the built platforms to advance research in optics, spin physics, and related quantum science areas.
• Mentor undergraduate students through research supervision, laboratory instruction, and hands‑on instrument development.

Required profile

• PhD in Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field with a strong experimental research background.
• Demonstrated experience designing and building scientific instruments that integrate optical, electronic, mechanical, and computer‑controlled subsystems.
• Strong problem‑solving, troubleshooting abilities and a collaborative interdisciplinary mindset.
