Postdoctoral Researcher in Cell Physiology & Applied Biophysics

About the role

We are seeking a postdoctoral researcher to join the Department of Electrical Engineering at United Arab Emirates University. The role focuses on interdisciplinary studies at the interface of cell physiology and biophysical characterization, investigating how electrical fields affect cellular composition and structure.

Key responsibilities

• Design, execute, and interpret experiments using biophysical methods.
• Plan, conduct, and manage independent research projects and collaborative studies.
• Analyze the impact of electrical fields on cell morphology and cancer cell division.
• Prepare and publish findings in peer‑reviewed journals.
• Interact with laboratory members, other research groups, and faculty to foster collaboration.

Required profile

• PhD in Cell Physiology, Applied Biophysics or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Adaptability to evolving research demands.
• Postdoctoral experience and a record of international publications are desirable.

Required skills

• Biophysical experimental techniques.
• Basic electronics concepts such as electric field, capacitance, and voltage.
• Cell culture methods (preferred).
• Knowledge of cancer cell division and characteristics.
• Data analysis and interpretation in biological systems.
