Practice Lead - Renewables

About the role

WSP is seeking a Practice Lead for Renewables to drive the growth and delivery of wind, solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects across the GCC. You will provide strategic direction, technical expertise, and ensure successful design, implementation and operation of renewable energy solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the expansion and delivery of renewable energy business, overseeing major project execution.
• Manage bids, proposals and ensure compliance with internal governance.
• Collaborate with technical teams to develop client‑focused solutions and deliver Owner’s Engineer, LTA and feasibility study assignments.
• Develop WSP’s go‑to‑market strategy for renewable projects and create a regional delivery model.
• Maintain and grow client relationships, identify new business opportunities and prepare development plans.
• Represent the practice with senior clients, partners and industry stakeholders.
• Mentor and grow the junior team, ensuring high‑quality delivery.
• Travel across the GCC as required and meet project KPIs, including cash collection.

Required profile

• Proven experience in client‑facing roles within renewable energy projects.
• Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• International project exposure and experience as a seller‑doer.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage large consultancy assignments.
