Precast Inspector

About the role

AECOM is looking for a Precast Inspector to support its marine and infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi. The inspector checks precast concrete elements through production, handling, transportation and installation, ensuring they comply with approved drawings, specifications and quality requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect precast concrete elements during production, handling, transportation and installation.
• Monitor manufacturing activities and check reinforcement, formwork, dimensions, embedded items, lifting anchors and concrete works before casting.
• Witness concrete batching, placement, vibration, curing and finishing.
• Review mix designs, material approvals, test results and quality records.
• Witness concrete testing such as slump, temperature and cube tests.
• Inspect finished elements for dimensions, alignment, surface finish, cracks and honeycombing.
• Verify identification, marking, storage and traceability of elements.
• Monitor loading, transportation, lifting and installation.
• Coordinate with the contractor, manufacturer, laboratory and site team to resolve quality issues.
• Raise inspection reports, identify non-conforming works or materials and maintain inspection records, photos and test reports.
• Ensure coordination between precast works and civil, structural, marine and infrastructure activities.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in precast concrete inspection and quality control.
• Experience in marine and infrastructure projects preferred; UAE experience preferred.
• Good communication and reporting skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of concrete, reinforcement, formwork, casting, curing and precast installation.
• Experience with inspection requests, material inspections, testing and quality documentation.
• Familiarity with relevant international standards and project specifications.
