Principal AI Agent Development Engineer Architect

About the role

Bybit, a cryptocurrency exchange and digital financial platform founded in 2018, is hiring a Principal AI Agent Development Engineer Architect. The role focuses on designing and building AI agent systems, including orchestration engines, MCP server wrappers and agent development toolchains. Suitable candidates must relocate to Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) or Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement the orchestration engine, runtime and core primitives, ensuring the agentic loop is steerable, verifiable, conversational and adaptive.
• Wrap internal systems as MCP servers, sub-agents and agent skills, unifying tool discovery, dynamic registration, RBAC, rate limiting and version management.
• Build agent development toolchains covering the full loop: spec, eval, build, test, A/B, canary, monitoring and iteration.
• Own accuracy, resolution rate, cost and latency metrics, and build agent personalization optimization loops from data feedback.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or above in CS/SE or a related field.
• 6+ years of engineering experience, with 3+ years focused on AI/agent systems; 8+ years and hands-on 0-to-1 agent platform delivery are strongly preferred.
• Full 0-to-1 launch of an agent product with a continuous iteration loop, distinct from demo or POC work.
• Ability to quantify effectiveness and cost, understand PII desensitization and prompt injection protection, and identify compliance boundaries in financial scenarios.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Go or Python, with production-grade system design and TRD documentation.
• Deep knowledge of LLM APIs, prompt engineering, ReAct patterns and context window management.
• Familiarity with at least one orchestration framework (e.g. LangGraph, Dify, Eino, Embabel, OpenAI Agents SDK).
• Hands-on experience with multi-agent collaboration (Agent Teams, parallel, DAG, handoff).
• Deep expertise in RAG (vector retrieval, hybrid search, reranking) or evaluation systems (LLM-as-judge, golden set, A/B testing).
