Principal Aviation Analyst

About the role

We are looking for a Principal Aviation Analyst to provide technical leadership on aviation forecasting, demand modelling, capacity analysis and strategic airport planning across regional and international markets. The role combines deep aviation industry knowledge with advanced modelling and simulation expertise to deliver high‑quality advisory solutions to airport operators, governments and investors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of aviation demand forecasting and modelling assignments.
• Conduct passenger, aircraft movement, cargo and airport capacity forecasts using industry‑recognized methodologies.
• Develop and maintain airport simulation, forecasting and network planning models (CAST).
• Undertake airport capacity, terminal and airfield planning and operational performance assessments.
• Deliver economic, market and traffic analyses to support strategic planning and investment decisions.
• Review and validate aviation datasets, forecasting assumptions and modelling outputs.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations and client deliverables.
• Manage multiple advisory and modelling projects, ensuring on‑time, on‑budget delivery.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams of planners, economists, engineers and data analysts.
• Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to airport operators, aviation authorities and private‑sector clients.
• Lead technical discussions, stakeholder workshops and support business development activities.
• Mentor junior analysts and support capability development in aviation forecasting and analytics.

Required profile

• 12+ years of professional aviation experience, including extensive capacity planning and modelling projects.
• Hands‑on expertise with IATA ADRM and CAST simulation software.
• Proven track record delivering complex consulting or engineering programmes with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of airport operations, airline networks, aviation economics and industry trends.
• Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Transport Planning, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Excellent leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills.
