Principal CAD Designer – Electrical

About the role

The Principal CAD Designer – Electrical will lead the design, control, and release of complex PCB layouts and manufacturing documentation in a highly regulated engineering environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop multi‑layer PCB layouts, component placements and routing solutions using Altium Designer, addressing signal integrity, EMC/EMI, thermal and manufacturability requirements.
• Generate complete manufacturing documentation packages (Gerber, ODB++, NC drill files, assembly drawings, BOMs).
• Manage PCB configurations, revisions and change control within Windchill PLM to ensure full traceability.
• Review designs, maintain component libraries, mentor junior designers and drive continuous improvement of design methodologies.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 8–15 years of PCB CAD design, layout development and manufacturing documentation experience in a regulated industry.
• Experience in defence, aerospace or other high‑reliability sectors is preferred.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with Altium Designer.
• Strong knowledge of Windchill PLM/PDM.
• Familiarity with IPC standards and configuration management.
• Experience with Zuken and/or Mentor Graphics is a plus.
