Principal Engineer – Dry Utilities

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Principal Engineer specialized in dry utilities to lead electrical design activities for large‑scale infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi. You will work on power distribution, lighting, earthing, fire alarm and life‑safety systems for tunnels, car parks, pump stations and treatment plants.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop HV/LV power distribution, lighting, and earthing systems in accordance with IEC/IEEE standards.
• Perform power cable sizing, load flow studies, short‑circuit analysis and fire‑alarm system design using industry‑standard software.
• Prepare detailed technical, commercial and life‑cycle cost analyses and suggest value‑engineering solutions.
• Provide technical guidance to CAD designers, drafters and junior engineers on project deliverables.
• Produce technical reports and client presentations, ensuring compliance with NFPA and local civil‑defense regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited university.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in electrical design and construction for large infrastructure, road lighting, telecom networks or road‑bridge projects.
• Familiarity with TAQA requirements and local UAE standards.
