Principal Instrumentation Designer

About the role

The Principal Instrumentation Designer will lead the instrumentation design effort for complex projects, ensuring high‑quality deliverables and seamless integration with other disciplines. This senior position requires autonomous work within established procedures and the ability to guide a small design team.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and develop conceptual, FEED, and detailed design drawings of high technical quality.
• Create 3D models and verify clash‑free integration with other engineering disciplines.
• Ensure design deliverables meet project specifications, MDR, and Level 2 & 3 procedures within schedule and budget.
• Lead and coordinate a small to medium instrumentation design team, allocating resources and forecasting needs.
• Act as the primary discipline contact for project meetings, customers, vendors, and certifying authorities.
• Identify scope changes early and raise change notifications.

• Senior‑level professional with extensive experience in instrumentation design.
• Proven ability to lead design teams and manage project deliverables.
• Strong organizational skills and the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively.
