Principal Mechanical Engineer – Power & Energy Projects

About the role

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to join its Nuclear & Power business in Abu Dhabi. You will lead multidisciplinary technical teams delivering advisory and owner‑engineer services for power generation, energy storage and decarbonisation projects across the Middle East.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage client relationships, identifying technical challenges and business opportunities.
• Lead proposal engineering for multiple combined‑cycle and renewable power projects, ensuring compliance with EPC contracts.
• Direct multidisciplinary engineering teams, overseeing resource allocation, technical integration and milestone delivery.
• Monitor technical and financial progress, resolve complex engineering issues and implement risk‑mitigation strategies.
• Review tender specifications, conduct bid evaluations, prepare clarification queries and lead client meetings to close technical gaps.
• Coach and mentor junior and graduate engineers, fostering a high‑performing, diverse team environment.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of experience in mechanical engineering for power generation or energy transition projects.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage client accounts.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a focus on delivering results.
