Procurement Engineer – MEP

About the role

The Procurement Engineer – MEP will support the acquisition of materials, equipment and services required for electrical power projects, including high‑voltage substations, cable networks and transmission lines. Working closely with project and site teams, the role ensures that all procurements meet the company’s standards for cost, quality and delivery timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior staff in procuring materials, equipment, equipment hire, labour hire, sub‑contracts and services in line with company purchasing policies.
• Obtain, review and compare supplier quotations and recommend the best options to the Senior Officer Purchase.
• Place purchase orders and coordinate timely delivery to job sites.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, inventory levels and supplier performance.
• Monitor supplier delivery schedules and product quality to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Collaborate with divisional managers, project managers and site managers to understand material and service requirements.
• Identify potential cost‑saving opportunities and report them to superiors.
• Ensure all procurements comply with required specifications and quantities.

Required profile

• Experience in procurement for construction or electrical engineering projects.
• Strong understanding of purchasing policies, supplier evaluation and contract negotiation.
• Ability to maintain detailed records and manage inventory levels.
• Effective communication skills for coordination with project and site teams.
• Proactive approach to identifying cost efficiencies and ensuring timely deliveries.
