About the role
The Procurement Specialist – CNC, Casting & Fabrication will lead sourcing, negotiation and supplier management for complex manufactured components that support POWERTECH’s propulsion development and production programmes. The role requires deep technical knowledge of CNC machining, casting and fabrication processes to make informed sourcing decisions.
Key responsibilities
- Manage end‑to‑end procurement of CNC‑machined, cast and fabricated parts, from RFQ creation to purchase order issuance and order closure.
- Evaluate commercial and technical bids together with Engineering and Quality, and support make‑or‑buy decisions.
- Assess supplier capabilities against drawings, tolerances, materials, volumes, quality standards and delivery schedules.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, tooling costs and other commercial conditions.
- Monitor supplier performance, identify risks and develop mitigation or alternate‑source strategies.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Program Management and Finance to ensure procurement aligns with BOMs, specifications and programme milestones.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Manufacturing or a related discipline.
- Minimum 7 years of procurement or sourcing experience in technically complex manufacturing environments.
- Hands‑on experience with CNC machining, casting and fabrication suppliers.
- Familiarity with aerospace or defence manufacturing standards such as AS9100, FAI and supplier qualification processes.
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems such as SAP.

- CNC milling and turning (3‑, 4‑ and 5‑axis)
- Precision grinding
- Investment casting and sand casting
- Sheet‑metal fabrication, welding and brazing
- Forming and assembly of fabricated components
- Tooling and fixture design and cost estimation
- GD&T interpretation of engineering drawings
- Supplier capability and capacity assessment
- RFQ preparation and technical/commercial bid evaluation
- Cost analysis and negotiation
- Risk management in supply chain
- SAP (or equivalent ERP) usage
