Procurement Specialist

About the role

The Procurement Specialist supports MDR business activities by acquiring materials in line with company policies, ethical standards, and project requirements. Working with internal teams and external vendors, the role ensures competitive pricing, quality, safety, and timely delivery of construction‑related supplies.

Key responsibilities

• Procure materials for construction projects, adhering to requisition specifications, international standards, codes, and regulations.
• Act as the internal liaison with PMT, Engineering, Construction, QA/QC, Safety, Accounting, and Warehouse, and interface externally with vendors.
• Develop and maintain a robust vendor base, monitor market trends, and evaluate vendor performance continuously.
• Manage the full RFQ process: verify requisitions, issue RFQs, coordinate clarifications, evaluate commercial bids, and recommend award decisions.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders, administer PO revisions, resolve discrepancies, and maintain complete procurement documentation.
• Support expediting activities and ensure audit trails for all procurement records.

Required profile

• Conceptual knowledge of procurement with the ability to solve straightforward procurement problems.
• Comfort operating with moderate guidance and direction from colleagues and leadership.
• Understanding of key business drivers and ability to apply this knowledge to procurement decisions.
• Experience interfacing with multiple internal departments and external suppliers.
