Procurement Specialist - Packaging

About the role

The Procurement Specialist – Packaging will own end‑to‑end sourcing and supplier management for all packaging needs at Floward. Working closely with the Commercial Design & Innovation team, you will translate creative concepts and product specifications into reliable, cost‑effective packaging solutions for multiple markets and brands.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Design & Innovation through a defined intake process to support packaging development from concept to production hand‑over.
• Convert creative briefs into technical specifications, sourcing strategies and shortlists of suppliers for boxes, ribbons, tags, sleeves, inserts, gift wrap and seasonal packaging.
• Research and expand the packaging supplier base locally and internationally, with a focus on factories in China and specialised vendors for print, paperboard, rigid and flexible packaging, and finishing techniques.
• Run competitive sourcing exercises (RFI, RFQ, RFP) and evaluate suppliers on cost, quality, lead time, MOQ, sustainability and capability.
• Monitor market dynamics for paper, board, ink, freight and currency, and flag cost or supply risks.
• Manage day‑to‑day supplier performance, quality defect rates, on‑time delivery and corrective actions.
• Lead sampling, pre‑production approvals and contract negotiations to secure competitive pricing, favourable payment terms and lead‑time commitments.
• Execute procurement transactions in the ERP system, including purchase order issuance and invoice processing.
