Procurement Specialist – Scrap & IOP

About the role

The Procurement Specialist will join the procurement team at Emirates Steel Industries, supporting the sourcing of scrap and IOP materials. Working under experienced colleagues, the role offers foundational experience in purchase order processing, supplier management, and compliance with internal policies.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in documenting business knowledge to support effective sourcing approaches.
• Identify end‑user department needs and participate in cross‑functional sourcing initiatives.
• Build and maintain value‑added relationships with internal stakeholder groups, treating them as key clients.
• Support category team members in monitoring supplier performance and executing corrective action plans.
• Participate in negotiations, applying Total Cost of Ownership and Best‑Value principles.
• Ensure data quality and integrity for contracts and supplier databases.
• Adhere to procurement and safety policies while working across business lines to optimise supplier performance, quality, efficiency, and cost.
• Assist category teams with RFx processes, spend analysis, contract evaluations, and negotiations.
• Use the procurement tool to execute the PR‑PO cycle on time and in line with delegation of authority.

Required profile

• Ability to work under the guidance of experienced procurement professionals.
• Strong communication skills to treat internal stakeholders as key clients.
• Orientation towards continuous improvement and KPI support.

Required skills

• Proficiency with procurement software for PR‑PO processing.
• Experience managing RFx processes and supplier data.
