Product Actuary - Employee Benefits

About the role

MetLife Gulf is hiring a Product Actuary for its Employee Benefits business, which covers group medical, life, disability and credit life insurance across the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain. The actuary drives the growth and profitability of the business by developing pricing strategies, designing new products and improving existing ones. The position reports to the EB Technical Director.

Key responsibilities

• Design and price competitive insurance products for group medical, life, disability and credit life, aligned with business objectives and local market demand.
• Develop and maintain actuarial models for pricing and financial projections, in line with MetLife's Actuarial Practice Standards.
• Collaborate with underwriting, sales, finance, operations and claims to position products effectively.
• Monitor product financial performance, analyze variances and trends, and recommend pricing adjustments and enhancements.
• Prepare and present detailed reports and proposals to senior management.
• Stay up to date with legislative and regulatory changes and ensure compliance with local laws.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field.
• Fellow or associate, and nearly qualified, actuary in a recognized actuarial organization.
• At least 5 years of pricing and product development experience in group medical, life, disability and credit life insurance.
• Preferred: experience in the GCC insurance market, multi-country product portfolios, and leading cross-functional AI or digital transformation initiatives.

Required skills

• Data analytics tools such as Alteryx and SAS.
• Data visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau and QlikView.
• Knowledge of AI and machine learning applications in pricing, underwriting and product development.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, able to explain complex actuarial concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
