Product Quality Engineer I

About the role

EDGE’s POWERTECH centre is looking for an entry‑level Product Quality Engineer to support product approval and acceptance activities for supplier‑manufactured parts. Working under senior engineers, you will gain hands‑on experience in first‑article inspection, PPAP, APQP, and configuration control within aerospace and defence applications.

Key responsibilities

• Review supplier first‑article inspection reports against AS9102, prepare findings and support senior review.
• Assist with PPAP and APQP submission checks, create completeness checklists, and verify drawing ballooning.
• Help prepare incoming inspection plans, collect measurement data, and support gauge review activities.
• Raise material review records, track corrective actions, maintain approval status and configuration traceability.
• Participate in supplier site visits, develop knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes and metrology.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Materials or Metrology Engineering.
• 0–3 years of experience or relevant internships in aerospace quality or manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings with GD&T knowledge.
• Familiarity with inspection planning, measurement methods and basic quality concepts.
• Strong attention to detail, disciplined record‑keeping and data‑analysis skills.
