Production Engineer - Structural Steel Fabrication

About the role

Q Steel is looking for a Production Engineer to support its manufacturing operations at Hamriyah Free Zone, Sharjah. The engineer coordinates production activities, manages workforce allocation and oversees fabrication processes so that workflows run efficiently, product quality is maintained and projects finish on time. Mechanical engineers with experience in structural steel fabrication and production planning are encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily production activities to keep manufacturing running smoothly.
• Allocate manpower according to production needs and monitor workforce productivity.
• Support heavy and light structural steel fabrication processes.
• Read and interpret fabrication drawings to ensure accurate production execution.
• Coordinate with production teams to meet project schedules and quality standards.
• Assist with basic cost estimation and keep production-related documentation.
• Identify ways to improve manufacturing processes and workflow efficiency.
• Monitor production progress and help resolve operational issues.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3 to 4 years of experience in production planning, manpower management and structural fabrication.
• Knowledge of heavy and light structural steel fabrication techniques and production workflows.
• Strong communication, coordination, organisational and problem-solving skills.

Required skills

• Familiarity with AutoCAD, CNC nesting, fabrication drawings and manufacturing processes is advantageous.
• Basic estimation knowledge and experience coordinating fabrication activities are an additional advantage.
