Production Operator

About the role

The Production Operator will join a multidisciplinary team responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a gas processing plant and its associated pipeline network. The role involves hands‑on field work, coordination with maintenance and control room teams, and strict adherence to HSE and Permit‑to‑Work procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor plant equipment according to instructions from the Central Control Room Operator (CCRO).
• Start‑up and shut‑down of process units, ensuring compliance with gas and oil processing operating principles.
• Coordinate third‑party worksite preparation, including isolation, depressurisation, and pressurisation of vessels and lines.
• Verify that mechanical equipment is operational and work areas are clean after maintenance activities.
• Ensure permit holders use correct tools, materials and personal protective equipment.
• Conduct risk assessments and report any abnormalities, near‑misses, incidents or accidents.
• Provide panel coverage for the CCRO when required.
• Perform gas nomination activities with clients and monitor process parameters, taking corrective action per SOP.
• Issue cold and vehicle entry permits as part of the Permit‑to‑Work system.
• Collaborate with maintenance and pipeline teams to maintain smooth and safe plant and distribution operations.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in gas processing and pipeline operations.
• Experience with DCS panel operation is an advantage.
