Production Planning Engineer - Luxury Furniture

About the role

Black Pearl Consult is looking for an experienced Production Planning Engineer for luxury furniture in Sharjah. The role turns confirmed orders, approved shop drawings, BOQs, material availability and delivery deadlines into detailed, machine-to-machine and department-wise production plans. It covers joinery, bespoke and loose furniture, upholstery and related metal fabrication.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare master production plans based on confirmed orders, approved drawings, material availability, site priorities and contractual delivery dates.
• Break down each order into detailed stages: panel and solid-wood cutting, CNC machining and edge banding, veneering, pressing, sanding and polishing, carpentry and pre-assembly, upholstery, foaming, cutting and stitching, metal cutting, bending, welding, grinding and powder coating, final assembly, inspection, packing and dispatch.
• Develop daily and weekly machine-loading schedules, calculate capacity, cycle time, manpower and expected output per work centre, and identify bottlenecks and material shortages early.
• Coordinate with Technical, Procurement, Stores, Production, Quality, Projects and Logistics teams, and monitor actual output against plan with daily variance reports.
• Re-sequence production for drawing revisions, delayed approvals, material shortages, urgent deliveries or machine breakdowns, and maintain visibility of WIP and dispatch readiness.
• Establish measurable KPIs for productivity, machine utilisation, schedule adherence, rejection, rework and on-time completion, and take part in daily production meetings.

Required profile

• Minimum 5-8 years of production planning experience in joinery, bespoke furniture, loose furniture or interior-fit-out manufacturing.
• Practical knowledge of joinery machinery, CNC operations, upholstery, finishing and metal fabrication.
• Strong understanding of BOMs, routing, machine capacity, cycle-time analysis, material planning, WIP control and production sequencing.
• Ability to read shop drawings, cutting lists, BOQs and material specifications; proven experience managing multiple concurrent custom orders.
• Engineering qualification in Industrial, Mechanical, Production, Manufacturing or a related discipline preferred.

Required skills

• ERP/MRP production-planning systems, preferably Odoo Manufacturing or equivalent
• Advanced Microsoft Excel (capacity planning, dashboards, pivot tables, lookups)
• Microsoft Project or Primavera (optional)
• CNC nesting and optimization software for panel processing
• AutoCAD or similar for reviewing production drawings
