Production Testing Engineer

About the role

Air Q Limited is looking for an experienced Production Testing Engineer to join our Assembly, Integration & Testing (AIT) team in Abu Dhabi. The Production Testing Engineer will be responsible for integration checkout, functional testing, and final acceptance testing of assembled units, ensuring each unit meets defined technical, quality, and performance requirements before handover.

Key responsibilities

• Perform integration checkout of assembled units and systems, verifying power, electronics, communications, navigation, sensors and other subsystem interfaces.
• Develop, document and execute functional and final acceptance test procedures, defining test methods and acceptance criteria.
• Design, develop and build test rigs, fixtures and test setups, configure and operate instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
• Collaborate with R&D, Engineering, Quality and Production teams to resolve integration issues and ensure testing aligns with quality requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Aerospace Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in integration and testing, test engineering or electro‑mechanical systems.
• Experience in aerospace, UAV, aviation, defense or advanced manufacturing environments is highly desirable.
• Hands‑on experience with testing, troubleshooting, instrumentation and test equipment.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent process‑improvement certification is an advantage.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of electro‑mechanical and electronic subsystem integration.
• Testing of power systems, communication interfaces, navigation systems and sensors.
• Design and construction of test rigs, fixtures and test setups from scratch.
• Proficiency with test instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
• Understanding of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality principles.
• Ability to develop and execute structured test procedures and documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting and fault‑isolation capabilities.
