Professional Interior Designer/Architect – Interiors

About the role

SOM is seeking a creative and independent Professional Interior Designer/Architect to join its Dubai studio. The role offers the chance to work on large‑scale and boutique projects, applying cutting‑edge digital tools and sustainable design strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Create and develop strong conceptual designs for interior and architectural projects.
• Integrate interdisciplinary criteria and move designs forward for large‑scale portions or small‑scale projects.
• Apply advanced knowledge of materials, finishes, building systems, specifications, and current building and fire codes.
• Research, design, and document throughout all project phases using appropriate digital tools.
• Support BIM/CAD standards and ensure compliance with project procedures.

Required profile

• Professional degree in Architecture and/or Interior Design.
• Licensure process near completion; LEED accreditation strongly preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.
• Understanding of sustainable strategies and green‑building rating systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

Required skills

• High proficiency in Revit.
• Experience with BIM tools.
• Rhinoceros, Grasshopper, Navisworks, Ladybug, Enscape, VR.
• Adobe Creative Suite.
• LEED knowledge.
