Project Design Leader - Rail

About the role

Woods Bagot is looking for a Project Design Leader to join its Dubai studio and take charge of a major rail infrastructure project. The role will involve steering the project from concept through design, construction and hand‑over, and later supporting other high‑profile projects across the Middle East and Europe.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of large‑scale rail and other infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with programme, budget and design goals.
• Manage project resources, budgets, risks and timelines throughout the lifecycle.
• Serve as the primary liaison for clients, authorities, stakeholders and partner firms.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including architecture, engineering, planning, urban design and specialist consultants.
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement, design coordination meetings and project reviews.
• Ensure compliance with client requirements, local regulations and internal governance.
• Monitor performance, anticipate challenges and implement corrective actions.
• Support business development and mentor junior team members.

Required profile

• 15+ years of experience in architectural design and delivery of complex, large‑scale projects.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage client relationships.
• Strong understanding of rail infrastructure design and construction processes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
