Project Director – PMCM

About the role

AECOM is seeking an experienced Project Director to lead its Project Management and Construction Management (PMCM) initiatives in Abu Dhabi. The role oversees complex infrastructure projects from concept through delivery, ensuring they meet strategic, regulatory and stakeholder expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Direct all phases of project and construction management, guaranteeing delivery on time, within budget and to quality standards.
• Develop comprehensive project strategies, timelines and budgets; monitor progress and adjust plans as needed.
• Lead, mentor and manage multidisciplinary project teams, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
• Identify, analyse and mitigate project risks, implementing proactive solutions.
• Manage stakeholder communications, providing regular updates to executive leadership, clients and regulatory bodies.
• Oversee contract management, procurement and vendor relationships to optimise costs and ensure compliance.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols, quality standards and regulatory requirements throughout all project phases.
• Analyse performance data and financial metrics, preparing detailed reports and recommendations for senior management.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading large‑scale construction or infrastructure projects.
• Strong ability to make strategic decisions and drive project delivery excellence.
• Excellent leadership and team‑management capabilities.
• Demonstrated skill in risk management, stakeholder engagement and contract administration.
• Solid understanding of safety, quality and regulatory compliance in construction environments.
