Project Engineer (Civil)

About the role

The Project Engineer (Civil) will lead the execution of building works on site, coordinating multiple trades and ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Execute civil, electrical, plumbing, drainage, AC, and fire‑fighting works through subcontractors.
• Read and interpret architectural, structural, electrical, plumbing, drainage, AC and fire‑fighting drawings.
• Perform quantity take‑offs and prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ) from drawings.
• Prepare project bar charts and schedules using Primavera or MS Project.
• Plan, monitor and independently execute small to large projects, managing manpower, labour and material resources.
• Organise material samples, obtain consultant and client approvals, and source local subcontractors.
• Conduct quality control and quality assurance inspections on site work.
• Float inquiries, obtain and analyse quotes, prepare comparison statements and negotiate contracts.
• Coordinate engineering, procurement and construction activities with internal teams and external vendors.

Required profile

• Strong experience in on‑site execution of building works, including blockwork, masonry, flooring, painting, false ceiling, carpentry, metal and glass works.
• Proven ability to manage electrical, plumbing, drainage, AC and fire‑fighting subcontractors.
• Competence in reading all relevant engineering drawings and producing accurate BOQs.
• Experience preparing schedules with Primavera or MS Project.
• Ability to organise resources, obtain material approvals and manage subcontractor agreements.
• Solid QC/QA knowledge and procurement negotiation skills.
